Our Story Programming Community Radio

PROGRAMMING

Our daytime programming typically consists of about 60% music and 40% speech. We like to talk about topics of local interest, such as arts and cultural programmes, community magazine programmes, local news and event information, issue-based talk shows, health information and advice.

Our musical output is driven by our community, (which we research through surveys and questionnaires) and reflects the diversity of the local community. Our recent surveys suggest that people’s musical tastes extend across many musical genres and we do our best to provide ‘a bit of something for everyone’.

At Sunny Govan Community Radio we are passionate about local talent and actively promote local music and performances. We aim to broadcast at least 12 hours of live programming every day (usually between 10am and midnight), using the rest of the time to repeat our most popular programmes. While the majority of our output is locally produced, we actively work with other like-minded Community Radio Stations in Scotland and across the world to exchange programming.
